We’ve all been there, noticed symptoms or been given a new diagnosis by a doctor and grabbed our phones immediately or scurried home to plop in front of Google. This blog and its sibling podcast are for people living with psoriatic arthritis. If you have ever had the delight of being told you have, ‘sausage finger’, frantically brushed dry skin off your black cocktail dress, had to go home from work to take a nap or answered the question of how you’re feeling with a muffled, “I’m fine”, you’ll feel right at home here.
Until I was asked to attend a Psoriatic Advisory Board meeting a little over a year ago, I had never actually met another person with my condition. The comfort I felt simply being heard by others who understood exactly what my life was like was incredible. Sore, stiff & sleepy aims to make you feel this sense of relief.
My name is Tess, I am from Newfoundland & Labrador but currently living in Toronto. I am 29 years old and was diagnosed in my early twenties with PsA. However, I have had psoriasis as long as I can remember. Like all of you, some days are good; I laugh, I drink wine, I ride my bike and other days are just one large nap.
Follow me on Twitter @sorestiffsleepy, simply say hello and let’s create a friendly community of people who really want to answer the question of how we’re feeling today with a resounding, “sore, stiff and sleepy.”
